Job Description:Sector Information:The sector Customer Support is responsible for the delivery, installation, maintenance, and optimization of the IC manufacturing systems of our client on customer locations.The Field Application Engineering group is part of the Customer Support organization. They supports customers to optimize the system of our client and process parameters for the customer specific production process.Position in the Organization:The Field Application Engineer’s work location is in an office of our client near a customer production facility. Currently our client has 7 offices in Japan: Tokyo, Yokkaichi (Mie), Saijou (Hiroshima), Uozu (Toyama), Tsuruoka (Yamagata), Isahaya (Nagasaki), Kumamoto. The holder of this position reports to the Field Application Manager in Tokyo. Job Mission:As a Field Application Engineer you deliver technical support and consultancy to customers in order to ensure optimal usage of the systems of our client in the customer’s IC manufacturing process. Job Description: As a specialist in the systems of our client, photolithography and IC manufacturing, a field application engineer:Supports customers to solve complex IC manufacturing issues Supports customers to improve product yield and productivity Supports joint technology development projects between our client and his customers Supports the introduction of new technology of our client at the customer location Provides input for improvements to the products of our client and for new functionalities Typical activities include: Design and/or execution of experiments (for trouble shooting purpose, or related to improvement actions) Data analysis and reporting based on standard system monitoring data, experimental data and/or data provided by the customer Introduction of new technology to the customer site, by providing Knowledge Transfers, executing tests, or by trouble shooting problems found during implementation Follow up with Customer Support or Development Specialists of our client in case of system related problems that cannot be fixed within Japan Providing technical input to operational, marketing, and sales teams Preparation of presentations and reports for customers or internal interfaces of our client Calls and meetings with customers or internal interfaces of our client to discuss issues, strategy, projects, progress, etc. Creation of documentation (for example procedures or process flows) to help the customer’s usage of the products of our client Profile:    Personality, mentality & competencies Strong analytical and technical skills Strong drive towards solutions Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills Able to handle cultural differences between countries Ability to make clear summaries of issues and activities Initiative Ownership Execute and work independently as well as in a team Good organizational and leadership skills to coordinate complex projects Ability to work under pressure A flexible attitude is required towards domestic and foreign travel     Qualification & Experience Bachelor, Master degree or PhD in Physics, Physical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines. Preferably a couple of years experience in an IC manufacturing environment, with emphasis on lithography processing and application of imaging and overlay solutions.    LanguagesJapanese: Native level of Japanese, both verbally and written, to communicate effectively with Japanese customers. English: Business level English, both verbally and written, to communicate effectively with local and overseas staff. Training:After entering the company, the new-hire will follow several months of technical training, by means of formal training courses and on-the-job assignments. Interested?
